Minutes of the MSGCCC Meeting

Thursday, 27 April 2006

Our monthly Club meeting was held at MontanaÕs in Gulfport.  The Club had a relatively good turnout with 31 members in attendance.  We would hope that as the summer goes along, more members will attend the monthly meetings.  In addition to discussing Club business, we also have a lot of fun.  If anyone doubts this, talk to anyone who attended the April meeting.  It was a hoot!!!

Darrell Hill gave a report on CruisinÕ the Coast (CTC), which will be held 1-8 October 2006.  The basics will be the same as in the past.  There will be a Monday night parade Ð details will follow.  Also, the Car Corral will be held Monday through Saturday.  As everyone knows, our Club handles both the parade and the Car Corral.  Therefore we will need as many volunteers as we can get.  Darrell past around a sign-up sheet at the meeting, asking folks to sign their names and provide their tee shirt size.  For those not in attendance, a sign-up sheet will appear on our web site.  You will need to let Robert know as soon as possible if you plan to work the parade and the car corral.  Please remember that the more members we have working, the more money we get from CTC for our Club bank account.  So, be sure to sign up with a CTC official each time you work during the week.  More specifics will become available as we get closer to October.

We reviewed the recent activities that the Club took part in Ð the Malbis/Mobile trip (the Egyptian exhibit, dinner at the Beach House Grill, and enjoying Rain and his band playing that evening.  We also discuss the cruise to Camp Shelby, where we had 16 cars in attendance.  Two of our members took home trophies.  Congratulations to both!

Our tentative schedule of events is as follows:  Vettes by the Shore, May 20; Tail of the Lizard Cruise, 27 May; overnighter to Vicksburg, 7 & 8 July; Vettes in the Village, 12 August.  July 15th, the New OrleansÕ group is coming over to the Greyhound park just outside Mobile.  We would like to have a bunch of our folks run over to the Park to show our support for our friends from New Orleans and the Northshore.

Some specifics related to Vettes by the Shore: There will be no tech inspection; 50/50 drawing will be held; we will have some giveaways.  This is a Club-sponsored event, so we need lots of members to show up and work.  If you could get their at 8:00 AM, that would be great.  Lots of help will be needed for judging the cars.

Rain will put additional info on our web site regarding all the items discussed above.  So, please, check our web site often.

See yÕall around soon and donÕt forget Ð SAVE THE WAVE!!!
