GULF COAST CORVETTES

PO Box 841

BILOXI, MS 39533

FROM THE PRESIDENT

To many of us in the club, we have lost a dear friend, Buddy Cook. Buddy is the type of person who would want us to continue out passion in Corvettes and those who did not get the chance to meet him, you missed out on one of the truly great Corvette Guys!

As March was a very busy month (we had events every weekend) we appreciate our club members who were able to help out and attend these numerous outings. April will be kept to a minimal in order to fully recover in the mind, body, spirit and wallet.

Please be promoting our upcoming VETTES BY THE SHORE event in June by registering all of your Corvettes (show or display), selling Sponsor Trophies, and inviting all your Corvette Friends. We appreciate your show of support for this INDOOR Corvette show. www.VettesByTheShore.com

We will be supporting our troops Saturday April 14th by attending the Cruise In up at Camp Shelby, followed by dinner afterwards in Hattiesburg, MS at Rayner’s Catfish Shack – Hwy 49 North. Departure details are on our website calendar.

The following weekend (April 19-22) we will be leaving for Bowling Green, KY. Again, event details, departure times, and hotel info are all on our website calendar.

Please come forward with any ideas or events you’d like to see the club participate in or organize.

Upcoming Events:

Tail of the Lizard May 12th

Corvette Rendezvous, Panama City, FL 18-20th

MSGCCC Boat Cruise 21-26th

(Additional information on ALL of these events is located on our msgccc.com website. Click 2007 Calendar)

Till then, Save the Wave!

CORVETTE TRIVIA

Power steering was first available in the 1963 Corvette.

Corvette had its first all aluminum engine in 1969 as the ZL-1. It was not the first GM automobile to do so, beaten by the Corvair in 1960 and the Buick 215 V8.

 Minutes of the MSGCCC Meeting

Thursday, 29 March 2007

The roster at March’s meeting contained 50 names. Good show, Guys!

Robert had the new members introduce themselves. We welcomed the following into our Club: Paul & Rhonda Swint (’66 Blue Vette & ’92 Black Rose convertible); Mike Stensrud (’01 Millennium Yellow Coupe); Sharon Sandoz (’04 Lemans Blue Coupe); and Kellye & Leroy Rushton (’96 Red Coupe). Welcome aboard, folks!

On 14 April, we will be supporting the troops at Camp Shelby. Following the Show, we will boogie up to Hattiesburg and munch at one of the local eateries.

19-22 April – we will be making our annual trip to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Those that are planning to go need to make their hotel reservations at the Microtel, Bowling Green. All the information you need is on our website. Just go to the Calendar.

We got reports on the recent events that members participated in – No Problem Raceway, the Legends Show in New Orleans, and the Lower Alabama Show in Gulf Shores.

Saturday, April 7th will be the first Cruise-in of the spring at Edgewater Mall. This is the one local cruise-in that our Club supports, so we would like to see a good turnout of members. The cruise-in runs from 6-9 PM. However, you can leave whenever you wish.

We are gearing up for our May Cruise to Mexico, as well as Vettes by the Shore. It was again mentioned that we need all our members to enter their Vettes in the show and to show up to help with the many projects that help make the show a success.
