Robert opened the meeting by having several new members introduce
themselves to the members in attendance. Welcome aboard to all!
The problem of missing pages with the hard copy of the Club newsletter has been
solved.
The Club has a membership directory now and will be for sale for $10. The
directory will be updated as often as necessary. Members are asked to assist in
this effort.
By now, hopefully everyone has seen the pictures of Carl Hamilton’s ZR-1 on
display on the turntable at the entrance to the National Corvette Museum.
February is MSGCCC month at the museum and we wish to thank Carl for
representing the Club in fine fashion.
James Alverson gave a report on the Club’s visit to Gulfport Laundry. Robert
then presented letters of thanks to David Gross and Richard Phelan. It should
be noted that, following our tour, while gathered outside the building for
pictures, James treated the group to one of his “famous” stories. As usual, the
story was enjoyed by all.
Darrell Suber gave a report on the NCRS Show in Orlando, FL.
By now, every one should have seen Rain’s e-mails on the trip to the Pompeii
Exhibit/Eastern Shore/Felix’s scheduled for Saturday, 10 February, as well as
the Valentine Cruise to Catfish Charlie’s in Hammond, LA, scheduled for Sunday,
February 11.
March 17th is the scheduled date for the Legends Car Show in Marrero, LA.
Flyers have been sent around. The Club plans to support our New Orleans friends
by attending the Show.
April 24th is the date for the Lower Alabama Show in Gulf Shores, AL. This show
is reported to be a lot of fun. It’s a one-day show, go-and-come in one day;
therefore, it is considered a local event.
Vettes by the Shore is coming together. The members in attendance had a chance
to see the proposed Show logo.
We have another Tail of the Lizard Cruise coming up soon. This cruise is always
a lot of fun. It is hoped we will have a lot of cars come along.
The 3rd weekend in April is set aside for the Club’s visit to the National
Corvette Museum and Vette Assembly Plant. This cruise is always well attended
and it is hoped that a lot of you will go along with us again this year.
