OFFICERS FOR 2005
GULF COAST CORVETTES PO Box 841 BILOXI, MS 39533
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Thanks for the good turn out at Carl’s garage for the last meeting, even though the weather was terrible. I hope that everyone enjoyed the short tech session with a Vette on the lift. Thanks to Bob and Becky Turner for the use of their gorgeous C-4 convertible. Hey, it even ran after we worked on it! Thanks to Carl for the use of the garage and Hope for lining up the food.
Join us at Montana’s for the April meeting on the 19th at 6:30 pm. Montana’s is near the airport in Gulfport at the corner of Highway 49 and Airport Road.
Our trip to Bowling Green is coming up the weekend of April 22-23. Some of us are leaving Thursday April 21 at 2:00 pm from Ocean Springs exit 50. Others are going Friday morning. Any of you that have not signed up and wish to do so, please call me as soon as possible. We will be staying at the Microtel Inn in Bowling Green. The new ZO-6 will be unveiled that weekend.
Several of our members attended a cruise in at Hood Chevrolet in Louisiana two weeks ago. It was a fund raiser for a Corvette member who was recently hospitalized. Carl, Jim Corder, Darryl and Deanna, and I attended the NCRS regional meet in Gonzalez, LA last weekend. We saw some FINE Vettes, even one with a piece of plywood stuck in the grill. Ask the Subers about this fine example of defensive driving.

Mississippi Gulf CoastCorvette ClubMinutes of Club MeetingTuesday, 15 March 2005
The March meeting was held at Carl’s shop. Despite the rainy weather, there were 24 members in attendance, which was great. Our President, Robert Kline opened the meeting, followed by a report on the trip to Gulf Shores by Becky Turner. It appears that the show was a great success for our Club. The Turner’s won 1st place in the C4 Division (Way to go, Guys! Shows what you can do when you have a beautiful Vette). The Club was represented by seven cars that made the trip. Deanna Suber gave a report on the new Club shirts. They will be ready for the April meeting. Anyone desiring an extra shirt will have to pay $20.00. Seems like a good price to me. The Christmas party has been scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd, at Steve’s Marina. The party will be held in the downstairs room and will begin at 6:30 PM. Next, Joe Fleming gave a report on Cruisin’ the Coast. This year will be the 10th Anniversary and the logo will be special and, probably, will become a collector’s item. At present, there are 1,345 Cars and 24 Vendors registered. Darrell Suber gave a report on Vettes by the Shore. The sponsor trophy forms are available and Darrell feels we need to sell about 180. The weekend of 21-24 April will be the club trip to the c5/c6 Birthday bash in Bowling Green. Several of us are going up Thursday in order to take the assembly plant tour on Friday. The unveiling of the new z06 will be Saturday. As an Aside, if any of you are thinking about going and haven’t made your hotel reservation, you need to do so now, assuming you wish to stay at the Microtel. I will have to call this week and release any remaining rooms that I had blocked off. Keith Crosby brought our new Club banner to the meeting. I can’t wait to see it. Thanks so much, Keith. We all appreciate it. The draft Bylaws were distributed to the members present. Darrell and Deanna Suber brought pictures from their trip to the NO Problem Raceway. The Turners received a free oil and filter change. I wish I could have watched it being done. I’m told that their car is still running. J (Robert, in case you didn’t know it, that is called a “zinger.” I won’t say who said it, but if you ask, I probably would tell you, if the price was right.)
