FROM THE PRESIDENT - JANUARY 2006

I'd like first of all to take this time to express my deepest sympathy to all who lost their homes, cars, and have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. I hope in the upcoming months and years that this will all be rectified. Thanks to all of the club members for the great turn out at Jada Cooper's House for the December meeting as well as the Christmas Party at Montana's. I was deeply touched! (Extra thanks go out to Rain Jaudon and Donn Hupp for providing the entertainment - And don't forget our own glowing singer, Phyllis Steelman) In the upcoming months we will be posting events. As President, I am asking you for suggestions and ideas for upcoming events. I remind you that this is only my 2nd year in this office and I need your support for the club to grow as well as not leave any individuals out. We want to touch on all facets of our club's interests. I want everyone to call me and talk to me about their suggestions.

On a more serious note, please review the rough draft of the bylaws that were handed out at the July meeting and email your comments to Joe and Carl.  If you don? have access to email, call Carl at 424-4064 and he will copy your comments to Joe.  Any immediate changes will be made before the next meeting and will be presented at the January26th meeting. Fingers are crossed that we will hold this meeting at Montana's in Gulfport, MS. Otherwise, we will return to Jada Cooper's house.

Please make a digital photo of your car, along with you and your family for our membership book.  Becky Turner and Jada Cooper are putting this project together and will contact you for background info on your vette. We will also use these photos on our website. Please email them to Rain at Rain@rainontheinternet.com

We have had a record year for Club Events! During this past year as Pres., several memorable trips come to mind. Vettes by the Shore, the cruise to Felix's (Mobile, AL), Sandestin, FL with the Miracle Strip Corvette Club (Vettes in the Village), C5/C6 Bash trip to Bowling Green, KY, Bellingrath Gardens Christmas tour, and of course ALL of the Tail of the Lizard runs. (If not for the pictures on the MSGCCC website, I would have not been able to recall this much!) Our 2006 event schedule will see the MSGCCC joining with other regional Corvette Clubs.      Save the wave!
