FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hi to everyone!  Thanks for the great turnout at the last meeting, prior to Vettes by the Shore.  The show was a great success thanks to all the hard work from all of you.  Darrell and Deanna, thanks so much for all you did.  Few of the members really understand how much work goes on all through the year to get ready for this show. 

In spite of the terrible weather, we still had a great turn-out.  I hope next year’s show can be as good as this one, only bigger.

The next meeting is this coming Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 pm at Montana’s in Gulfport.  All meetings hereafter will be on the fourth Thursday of each month, except November.  The next event is July 2 at Edgewater Mall 6:00 to 9:00 pm.  July 16 is a lunch cruise to Felix’s Seafood Restaurant in Mobile followed by shopping at the fabulous new mall at the Malbis exit on I-10.  The mall is a real treat.

New members who have joined since the last newsletter are:  Dan Shmidt, Susanne Peterson, Vic  Denton, Joe Thornburgh, and David Tenace.

> The first major tire size change in Corvette history occurred in 1965. Tire size changed from 6.70x15 to 7.75x15.

 > The 1961 Corvette was the last year to feature "Wide Whitewall" tires.
